2016 NORTHWEST BIKE ADVENTURE

In 2015, I took a break from my passion for long distance bicycle touring and hiked the 500 mile El Camino de Santiago (the "Way of St. James") with my sister Donna.  One of the many lessons and "aha moments" I took away from the hike included the realization that I am most definitely a biker at heart, and not a hiker.

On June 14, 2016, I am thrilled to be teaming up once again with my riding partner, Randy Garmon, to begin a new biking adventure through the northwest to include Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Canada. The ride will incorporate some areas we have ridden previously, and add many new routes and towns. Should be some stunning scenery and challenging hills/mountains. A bicyclist's paradise. I am especially looking forward to beating the Texas summer heat, and for the opportunity to re-connect with friends I have met the last couple of years as part of my previous adventures.

I am also using this ride to raise funds in support of "Truth-Be-Told", a long time favorite cause of mine. "Truth-Be-Told" was co-founded by a close friend, Nathalie Sorrell, and in part helps teach incarcerated women how to give voice to their life stories as part of the healing process and in preparation for life after prison. I have been privileged to personally witness the fruits of this important work over the years. Please check out their website at www.truth-be-told.org.

I invite you to join with me once again on this new adventure. If you wish to receive automatic email updates, sign up to the right where it says, "Follow Kim's Ride By Email".

See you on the road!
